2024 U.S. Marketing Jobs Report
For those of us in the marketing industry, this is a time of profound uncertainty—marked by rapid shifts, AI-driven disruption, and an overwhelming flood of hype and conjecture. Jobseekers feel this even more acutely.
In this environment, the absence of reliable data leaves us navigating blind. Without clarity, we’re left to rely on anecdotes and fragmented opinions, making it harder to plan careers, hire effectively, and prepare for what’s next. A data-driven foundation has never been more essential.
While job market data does exist, much of it relies on outdated methods, some of which originated a century ago. This leaves big gaps in visibility. Our data isn’t flawless, but it stands out for its scale, recency, and focus. Partnering with Aspen Technology Labs, we’ve aimed to bridge this gap and bring you closer to an accurate, timely understanding of the marketing job market.
Our report analyzes data from over 262,000 marketing job postings in 2024, using public listings, salary data, and industry reports to reveal key trends. It examines job openings, salary transparency, regional shifts, and the rise of dual-function roles and specialized positions. By comparing the year-end data in 2024 to the year prior, we identify high-growth areas, booming job markets, and shifting employer expectations.
Our analysis currently focuses on marketing-specific, non-agency roles only. Later in 2025, we plan to begin tracking agency-side hiring data in the new year, offering a more complete view of the job market for marketers.
