In Conversation with Josh: Pain & Endurance
We are all fragile, though some of us may not realize it. Many believe themselves to be invincible, taking extreme risks and claiming they’re “bulletproof.” This belief often comes from past successes, creating an invisible armor of perceived invulnerability. But as Josh Jonas, Clinical Director and Co-owner of The Village Institute of Psychotherapy, explains, this mindset is often rooted in unresolved trauma or shame.
Instead of denying pain, true strength comes from embracing vulnerability, maturing from the heroic fantasy of invincibility to the wise warrior who acknowledges limitations and earns trust through balance and compassion.
